A data scientist Another role in the data industry. Not matter how you define it you, it must include broad data experience. By default all today’s data scientist use digital data, data stored in a digital format. Otherwise it would be like having a logistics company that doesn’t use wheels.
If you were a working as a data scientist in a retail company you may analyze big data to help advertisers between target audiences on different channels.
You would have a experience in programing or data modeling. You would be familiar with analytic tools and capabilities. Maybe you have a mathematics degree or were trained in research. Or had a career deploying data solutions across industries. It will be unlikely that 2 data scientist would have the same background or define their role with the same functions.
I have often referred to myself as a Data Diva before the Data Scientist was used. A SME in the field of data (and in my case – customer data)!
